Character Owner : the ArchDruid

Full Character Name : Shanin n'S'aryn Betandi ('a' in first name is pronounced as in 'stay' or 'shade', the rest is as it looks.) Sometimes goes by the aliases Sidanya, Sihaya, Channa.

Soul Name (if any) : none

Race (elf, Starfleet human, any Empire (Federation) race) : Athmari (explained later), member of Clan Betandi

Description (Appearance, disposition towards humans etc.) : about 1.8 meters tall with pale skin, black hair, and black eyes. Pointed ears almost like an elf's, but more concave on the top. Five fingers per hand like a human. Grey mist-like tattoo over half her neck, left shoulder, left arm and hand. She is a member of a nomadic, non-Empire race called the Athmari, who are rather secretive and thus not well known inside the Empire. The exact nature of the Athmari is unknown but they go to great lengths to protect their privacy and generally steer clear of all other races. Shanin herself is a bit of a rebel, the great-granddaughter of the legendary S'aryn, and daughter to Seleyn Betandi. She trades in unique items, and would have more than a little interest in the Palace of the High Ones, but for the fact that she does not want ships full of furious elves descending upon her once she finds it and puts it up for auction. She is seen periodically in the fashion of Two-Edge, spending much of her time in non-Empire space in her ship, the Diamond Shard, searching for unique and valuable items to sell and telling tales wilder than Kirk's. She was assimilated by the Borg/Neverending and still bears an active Borg Link, but no one knows exactly how she was able to escape. Special abilities detailed under 'magic'. Friendly towards all races, but with a touch of arrogance occasionally. Has a bizarre fascination with human theater, especially "The Mikado."

Uniform Personalisation (including preferred weapon) :Wears no uniform. Generally covered up more than others around her, with a plain grey jumpsuit, matching gloves, and knee-high boots made from a strange grey leather. Sometimes wears a matching cloak when trying to intimidate or impress. Carries a longsword and dagger, as well as several concealed weapons (that extra clothing is good for something)

Bond-Animal : none in the traditional sense, but is accompanied by an energy lifeform known as Kaiateilh.

Magic Powers : again, none per se, but has several abilities which would appear to be magic. She can communicate with computers through touch. This and her other odd abilities are probably due to extensive cybernetic implants. She is also invisible to all types of scanners including medical tricorders.

Starfleet Rank :non-applicable; civilian (privateer?) merchant ship captain

Specialist Area (engineering, medical etc.) : highly skilled in engineering of all sorts, and very good with swords (hers is a bit like a troll sword, but narrower, and named Teiae), daggers, and energy weapons. Her people are reverent towards their weapons and compose epic poems about the kills they achieve with the help of their family blades. Her poem is something on the order of five volumes, as it is older than most and from the hand of her ancestress S'aryn, who started some of the bloodiest feuds in Athmari history.

Other Information (other associated characters, specifics of non-standard tribe etc.) : Her mother was an 'outlander', Iria Kessel of the Ai'ani, and she is granddaughter of the current ruler of the Athmari...if they can be said to have a ruler. Each Clan rules itself for the most part, and their High Council has been described by Shanin herself as 'a farce on par with those barbaric Klingons' government'. Has taken a shine to Lt. Moonstone.

Quote (a typical quotation or saying associated with your character) : an assortment of Athmari curses, most notably "Blood of S'aryn!", also quite fond of bellowing out movements from "The Mikado" (especially those having to do with death), occasionally given to quotes.

The original, un-cleaned-up version of her portrait...try to decipher my scrawly handwriting if you dare...
